Community Preservation Act and Funding for the Park
In 2021, Clemente Park Committee was awarded $110,000 towards park upgrades. Letters of support came from the Boys and Girls Club, the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, and community members to support the application. In 2023, Clemente Park Committee wrote a letter in support of the City of Lowell to the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association. Overall, 1.6 million dollars was accumulated to go towards upgrades to the Roberto Clemente Park. We want to give a big thank you to the City of Lowell for hearing our initial concern and taking action for a better park in the Cambodia Town district of Lowell, Massachusetts.
